he recent BIOSOLFarm partners’ trip to Poland, expertly organised by 👉 𝐏𝐎𝐃𝐑 (𝐏𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐧) and Politechnika Gdańska 👈, was truly remarkable! The three action-packed days kicked off with the „BIOSOLFarm Conference, Lubań, June 2025,” where we listened to engaging presentations by speakers from 𝐏𝐎𝐃𝐑, Uniwersytet Warmińsko-Mazurski w Olsztynie, Wojewódzki Fundusz Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej w Gdańsku, and Goodvalley Polska, followed by a fascinating tour of 🌳Kashubian heritage, as featured in Guinness World Records, rich in history and songs at 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐜𝐣𝐢 𝐢 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐣𝐢 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐮 𝐰 𝐒𝐳𝐲𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐮 𝐙𝐚𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐳𝐚.
🔬 Day two focused on science and biology. Partners visited three biogas stations, ranging from large-scale facilities to smaller setups. Where they learned about the generation of hot water and electricity and the challenges these stations encounter. The key takeaway ?🤔 Spoiled food isn’t wasted just yet! Potatoes, corn, silage, or animal waste can serve as feedstock in the energy production process in biogas plants.
✨ Finally, partners gathered to hold the BIOSOLFarm Knowledge Exchange meeting – a key event that brings partners together to share best practices, build cross-border capacity, and shape joint policy recommendations—followed by an insightful tour of Politechnika Gdańska and the Old Town of Gdansk, where project partners not only learned about the academic excellence of Gdansk University of Technology but also immersed themselves in the rich history of the city itself.
Our trip to Poland was an inspiring journey filled with engaging presentations, fascinating tours of biogas stations, and a deep dive into the rich history of Gdańsk
